Position Summary:         

The Value Analysis Manager works collaboratively with internal Yankee departments to support assigned member hospitals in identifying and implementing savings and contract uptake opportunities. The VA Manager will work closely with hospital executives, supply chain, value analysis, clinicians, and other stakeholders to assist in the coordination of product evaluation, trials, product conversions, and process improvement initiatives based on quality patient care, evidenced-based practice, and research.

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with member clinicians, supply chain, and value analysis committees to identify and present opportunities for standardization, benchmarking, utilization savings, contract uptake/conversions and price reduction strategies while maintaining or improving patient care and practice.
  • Support member organizations in establishing and developing value analysis teams, evaluating current value analysis processes, and guiding program maturity through best practices and strategic consultation
  • Coordinate product and service evaluation processes. Ensure all evaluations are unbiased and conducted in a professional manner.
  • Track value analysis efforts, measuring and documenting financial, quality and service success. Prepare value analysis reports to monitor and measure value analysis outcomes as need or requested.
  • Partner with member hospitals and YA account managers to successfully implement supply expense reduction initiatives.
  • Partner with member supply chain and/or value analysis departments on clinical substitutions, conversions, utilization, and new product initiatives to increase clinical adoption.
  • Provide clinical subject matter expertise for various internal and external stakeholders
  • Performs detailed analysis for members to identify best practice, opportunities for controlling costs, increasing operational efficiency, and improving safety, utilization, and outcomes.
  • Provide on-site expertise to support member hospitals in the value analysis process.
  • Stays current with emerging clinical evidence, healthcare economics, and operational best practices to identify opportunities for improved product utilization, cost savings, and workflow efficiency
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in healthcare related field
  • RN required
  • Membership to professional organization such as AHVAP or AHRMM
  • Certification as a Certified Value Analysis Healthcare Professional (CVAHPtm) is required or CVAHPtm eligible and certification obtained within first year of employment.
  • Minimum 5 years hospital-based healthcare experience.
  • Experience in healthcare supply chain and value analysis processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical products in addition to healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices
  • Experience leading cost-reduction efforts and facilitating value analysis committee meetings.
  • Possess advanced analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
